This center is the source for body wisdom, will power and individuality. It is the foundation of the personality. It also corresponds to our digestion, governing our ability to turn food matter into energy for the body, as well as to digest emotional issues and process feelings. This is the home of our emotional bodies or feminine aspect. When the third chakra is out of balance we feel insecure, needy and depressed. Rubbing your belly, deep diaphragmatic breathing and eating healthfully can realign the power center. When healthy, the third chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, organization, discipline, enthusiasm and laughter. Symbolized by a lotus with ten petals. The mantra is RAM.
